Spring

So what do you think of when think spring?  Most people think about the flowers blooming , getting out and working in the yard, cleaning,  fresh starts.  I however  feel the urge to go  hunting.  This is the season for yard sales and great finds.  There is something special about getting up early going to a flea market or yard sale not knowing what you are going to find.  Maybe you are looking for something specific or like me find something you had no idea you were looking for.  This weekend I went to Boone NC and found a small junk shop off the high way they had lot of old and interesting item there but my big find was  sewing trim.  Sounds boring but when I make something and it needs a special touch I will have it on hand and it was a super deal to boot.  I am getting ready to make funky cozies and have made some fun cuff bracelets too.  I also found some great beads in Boone as well as some awesome ideas for some new projects.  I hope you get out and enjoy the hunt.

Earriings are great

I thought I would share my latest creation.  I made these out of vintage earrings.  I love to re purpose vintage jewelry. It is truly amazon what you can do with what you all ready have. 

cool find

I was at an auction and found these great industrial tables. I believe they are handmade. The tops are aluminum and the legs steel.  Not sure what they were used for but I found them way to cool to pass up.  I have 6 tables total and decied to keep one for my house.  I am in the process of coloring it in greens and would love some feed back keep in mind it is a working progress.

ART FIRE SHOP

So I am opening a new shop on artfire.com As we begin a new year it is time to share all the great  funky teasures I have  in my building,  and the great designs I am carring around in my head.  I am working hard to set up my shop full of my handmade jewelry designs and I will also be adding to my etsy shop some great treasures.  Stay tuned for a new year full of suprises!

I am trying to get better at my blogging and I am always coming up with random ideas I am not always interested in perusing but think someone would. So I am going to try to start posting these and see what happens.
First thought is random we recently had a litter of 8 puppies and as they got older it seemed hard to find good puppy toys. I know there are lot of dog toys out there but didnt find really good toys for teething puppies. There mouths are smaller, have no teeth when born soft gum's, and most toys are made of hard material for dogs with teeth. We ended up using soft stuffed animals(they like the beanie animals), and as they grew we used the skinny rawhide. They really liked shoe laces. They could get to there back gum's where there teeth are growing. Okay so there you have it.

Findng Treasure

Hello and Welcome
I am a treasure hunter by necessity. What I mean is in this crazy world we live in we all have to find ways to live. I have been a stay home mom for years and now my 3 children are about grown. my youngest is 16 then 18 and 20. I will have 2 in college in the fall and it is time to reinvent my self . I love creating and crafting so I have been making jewelry and trying to sell it. I have been somewhat successful but find it hard to stand out from the crowd. So the opportunity came up to buy an estate lot of vintage jewelry so we did. All of 10,000 pcs, yes I said 10,000 plus pcs. I have been selling at flea markets and some dealer where ever I can and has been doing good. This is a slow way to earn a profit but then again I have nothing better to do. Ha! Ha! well anyway I recently did a show in a bigger city and discovered lots of people are interested in making there own jewelry to get a unique look. Long story short I decided to take apart old unwanted pcs of jewelry and save the componts to sell. I relize this is not new idea but what the heck. Soooo if you are looking for a unique item just let me know (example: I am looking for blue fish to finish a necklace) I will try to ist very unique items here and fill request.
